Join the Trail Conference’s Executive Director and your Trail Family for a moderately paced, 3.5-mile loop hike on mostly easy trails in Essex County’s Eagle Rock Reservation.
This hike leads you along the scenic First Watchung mountain, where you will see panoramic views of the New York City skyline and basalt rock outcrops. We will share some of the park’s rich history and discuss our work plans for the 36-mile Lenape Trail, which passes through the park, and for the Reservation. As caretakers of the Lenape Trail and more than 2,000 miles of trails regionwide, the Trail Conference is in the process of adopting Eagle Rock’s entire trail network.
